The University

DEVI AHILYA VISHWAVIDYALAYA (DAVV), formerly Indore Vishwavidyalaya, established in 1964 at Indore - the pride city of Malwa, is a leading University in the central part of India. DAVV has envisaged the need of qualified professionals in all walks of life and society. It has encompassed the frontline areas of education including Science, Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Law, Journalism, Tour - ism, Management and Engineering. It has over thirty teaching departments offering, gradu-ate and post -graduate programmes. Most of these also provide the facilities of doctoral research. DAVV is a state university supported by both, the Government of M. P and University Grants Commission (UGC). Its name appears in the Common Wealth Yearbook and it has been declared as Model University by the Government of M. P DAVV has been awarded 'IV Grade university by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) - University Grants Commission (UGC). In addition to its own departments, it has got over 280 affiliated colleges. It also provides centres and forums for learning and knowledge exchange for many small and medium scale industrial units and business houses, located in Indore, Dewas, Pithampur etc.

The Institute

Devi Ahilya University Indore has been a leading University of central India. The University within the framework of its UTD opened a self-financing engineering Institute named Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET). It started its academic journey with glorious dreams on 04 September 1996. It has been popularly known as IET-DAVV. First academic block was inaugurated by the Hon'ble President of India Dr.Shankar Dayal Sharma.

Industry-Institute Interaction Cell(III-Cell)

In this fast changing world of technology, greatest challenge is formal training/skill becomes obsolete even before one completes it. The excessive pace of technological changes has emphasized the need to integrate technological knowledge & skills in education and training to expand employable capabilities of a knowledge-based professional. Interaction between Institute and the Industry is widely recognized as an essential requirement to train and develop the right kind of technical manpower necessary to sustain and promote industrial and economic growth. The purpose of III-cell at IET-DAVV is to share the knowledge between industry and institute. It will be helpful to train the students coming out of the institute to cater the needs of the industry with regard to the skill competence and the trained man power. An effective industry-institute relation would help to benefit to industry by way of sharing knowledge, training needs of the institute. project guidance, placement of students and problem solving in the industries through consultations.
